HYDRO POWER EXHIBIT | IMAGINATION WORKSHOP | TEMECULA

San Diego’s first choice in Creative Services for the Entertainment Industries.

This is an exhibit that uses Archimedes Screw Pump technology to move ping pong balls up a large clear tube.  The kids turn the big knob and the balls get pushed upwards. Once the balls get to the top, they roll through more clear tubes and fall into a “turbine” which spins to create electricity.  The generated electricity causes the room lights to flicker.  As the lights flicker, an audio track plays electrical discharge sounds mixed with rolling thunder.  The room itself is illuminated with blacklight, and the ping pong balls, graffiti, and water drip “age” are all painted with fluorescent paints.  It’s kinetic, fun, and dramatic. The kids love it!  We also added some aged newspaper articles about Tesla and Edison to the walls.

The exhibit is located in the “bathroom” of Professor Pennypickle’s “house”, also known as Pennypickle’s Workshop, in Temecula, California.

“My method, is different.”
